About

About Fung Collaboratives:

Fung Collaboratives is an arts organization without boundaries. Through the development of curatorial, commercial, and educational events under a single organizational umbrella, Fung Collaboratives fosters the collaboration of both emerging and established artists in intimate and ambitious projects with domestic and international settings.

Founded by Lance Fung in 1999, the mission of Fung Collaboratives has always been to explore and develop the most interesting conversations possible between and through the arts. Initially formed in conjunction with Lance Fung’s curatorial efforts on behalf of his New York City gallery, Fung Collaboratives has since expanded in scope and vision, committing itself to curating intellectually rigorous and visually stimulating exhibitions that are also accessible to a mainstream audience.

All too often, the Art World is perceived as elitist, insulated, and closed off from the wider viewing public. Fung Collaboratives intends to shift this general impression of the Art World to one of inclusion and openness. In past exhibitions, such as The Snow Show, both art professionals and members of the public have responded strongly to the works of art presented, allowing a very interesting discourse to evolve between and among all concerned. This unique focus on collaborative experiences frees Fung Collaboratives to challenge the participants, the viewers, and its own expectations and assumptions.

Fung Collaboratives works closely with galleries, museums, curators, critics, universities, patrons, organizations, and cities from around the world. We channel their efforts into unique projects at exciting and diverse venues reaching an audience that ranges from the most sophisticated art follower to the cultural newcomer.
